Hey we’re Raphael Shina and Jamison Veitch Year 5 boys from St Aloysius' Junior School at Milsons Point and we are supporting (:Smile for Me; Smile for Me is a organisation that goes to the Philippines and heals mainly children and teenagers of cleft deformities or cleft palate. Smile for Me is Australian based and needs doctors, dentists, nurses and anaesthetists. They need money for the equipment and travel fares which are 50,000 dollars for a trip. When you think about it that is not a lot of money when you are making a huge difference in the lives of 150 young people in a year.
So get donating with your pledge and please be generous.
How The Funds Will Be Used
Our funds raised will be used to assist Doctors travelling to the Phillipines and equipment necessary to perform very delicate oral surgery.
All doctors and nurses are volunteering their time and expertise.
The Filipino hospitals are not as developed or equipped as well as those in Australia.
Since doctors and nurses are then working in a third world country, they have to be particularly careful of infection, before during and after surgery.
A further challenge is to educate the parents and carers to continue postoperative care.
